COORG-AUTHOR:P.T. Bopanna started his journalistic career as the Coorg Correspondent of the The Hindu at Madikeri. In his nearly 25 years of professional career, he has worked for the Indian Express and The Times of India at Bangalore.

Bopanna has also served as the Bangalore stringer for the Associated Press, the New York-headquartered international news agency for six years. An economics graduate of the Madras University, Bopanna has a master's degree in political science from Karnatak University and a post-graduate diploma in journalism from Bhavan's, Mumbai.
Bopanna won two awards instituted by the Bangalore Reporters' Guild in 1986 for the best crime story and the scoop of the year.
For the last eight years, he has been working as the Special Correspondent of The Pioneer (New Delhi). Bopanna has taught journalism at Surana College and Jain College post-graduate institute at Bangalore. Bopanna was born in Coorg on June 30, 1950.
