ABBEY FALLS

ABBEY FALLS: Abbey Falls is a picnic spot 8 km from Madikeri town, where water from the Madikeri stream hurls down from a height of 70 feet. It is a treat to watch the roaring torrent of water in the monsoon season between July-October. The British called the spot Jesse Waterfalls in memory of the daughter of Madikeri’s first chaplain. The approach to the Falls is through a private coffee estate. One can walk up to the Falls through a flight of steps. The cascading water joins the river Cauvery.
