COORG WEBSITE AND THE TRENDING OPRAH WINFREY INTERVIEW WITH PRINCE HARRY AND MEGHAN MARKLE

By P.T. Bopanna*

The ripples created by the recent explosive interview given by Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to Oprah Winfrey which trended worldwide on social media, has had its positive impact on www.coorgtourisminfo.com, my flagship site started in 2005.

Following the explosive conversation, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s interview became one of the most talked-about topics on Google searches around the world.

After the British publications drew parallel between Meghan and the Coorg Princess Gowramma, the adopted daughter of Queen Victoria, netizens apparently showed interest in knowing about Princess Gowramma.

I received a mail from Google Search Console Team that my page on Coorgtourisminfo.com website ‘Victoria Gowramma’s Great-Great-Granddaughter Visits Coorg’ has been trending.

The article was written by writer C.P. Belliappa (in picture). From the time I started Coorg’s first news and tourism portal, www.coorgtourisminfo.com, Belliappa has been writing a column for my portal. He has written extensively on the history of Coorg, especially about Coorg princess Gowramma. He is also the author of the book ‘Victoria Gowramma: The Lost Princess of Coorg’.
